Dear Fellow Braddock District Council Members,
Happy New Year! It’s always exciting to mark another trip around the sun by setting some resolutions. Personally speaking, I am going to make a determined effort to eat fewer cookies in 2026. Over the past few weeks I’ve taken it upon myself to sample every batch of homemade baked goods that have crossed my path.
Here are ten terrific reasons for putting down the remote control and joining us:
The shows on Netflix will still be there waiting for you.
No one wants to reorganize a closet. Save it for 2027.
We have an assortment of fresh cookies at each meeting. I can attest to their deliciousness.
Cookies consumed at council meetings do not count toward your newly formed fitness goals.
Join our community of civic-minded leaders who are looking to improve the Braddock District.
Gather important information to bring back to your neighborhood association.
Find out how other associations deal with the challenges of serving their communities.
Learn something new from our guest speakers.
Make new friends.
Did I mention we have cookies?

Guest speaker Eileen Kragie, Founder of Dark Sky Friends, will share her expertise with us about light pollution. Learn more about how we can safeguard our own health as well as the environment. Find out how local jurisdictions play a role in establishing policies and ordinances that help limit the effects of too much artificial light. After Ms. Kragie’s presentation, we will hold an open discussion about some of the common challenges we face as community association leaders such as retaining members. We can then start working in small groups to come up with solutions that will benefit us all.
