From the President (February 2026)

Dear Fellow Braddock District Council Members,

Thanks for the wonderful turnout at our last meeting. Eileen Kragie, founder of Dark Sky Friends, gave a great presentation on the impacts of light pollution.  Check out the following links for ideas on how to help your own neighborhood:

In addition to learning about light pollution, we were able to devote part of the evening to a highly productive breakout session.  Roughly half of us met as representatives of home owners associations and the other half gathered to discuss the needs of civic associations.  The top issues facing the majority of both groups included member communication and engagement.  Before our next meeting I’ll be sending out additional details so that members can gather materials to share during round two of the breakout sessions.

Upcoming Events:

Wednesday, March 4

Best of Braddock Awards

Wednesday, March 18

Guest Speaker: Matt Adams, Division Director at Solid Waste Management

April/May

Annual Legislative Update

If you have any topic suggestions or concerns that affect the Braddock District as a whole, we'd love to hear from you.  Thank you for supporting your local community, and I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Todd Murphy

President, BDC
