NOTICE OF BRADDOCK DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTIONS FOR COUNCIL OFFICERS FOR 2023-2024

Pursuant to Article IX, Section 5 of the Braddock District Council By-laws, notice is hereby given of the slate of candidates to be voted on at the annual Council election meeting.

Date and Time: Wednesday, 21 June, 2023, at 7 p.m.

Location: Braddock Hall, 9002 Burke Lake Road, Burke, VA 22015 (adjacent to the Braddock District Supervisor’s office and the Kings Park Library)

Slate of Candidates:

Chair:  Robert Cosgriff (Hickory Farms Community Association)

Vice-Chair: Marie Norman (North Springfield Civic Association)

Secretary: Susan Di Maina (Canterbury Woods Civic Association)

Treasurer: ____________________________________________ (nominations for Treasurer and other officers will be accepted up to the date of the meeting and from the floor at the meeting)

Election Information:

• Only associations in good standing (i.e., paid-up dues for the current 2022-2023 Council year) are eligible to participate in the election
• A quorum of seven associations in good standing is required to conduct the election
• Each eligible association is entitled to the number of votes (from 1 to 4) allotted based on association size
• Eligibility to vote will be confirmed at the meeting prior to the balloting
• In the event that there is only one candidate for each office, the Chair will entertain a motion to elect the slate of candidates by acclamation
